Beating man defense is always something needed within a scheme, since that is a very popular play that most madden gamers end up picking.  Spreading your opponent out in man and compressing in versus zone is a good concept to live by.  By spreading your opponent out in this formation, you have two routes that man coverage cannot guard.

Once your opponent realizes that they must account more players than just one for each of those routes to the middle, your outside WR’s will have less coverage and most likely be one on one.

With that being said, if you make the correct read on this play, with big outside WR’s able to come down with a rocket catch versus any one CB on the game, can cause fits for your opponents in man coverage.

Play: Y Trail
Formation: Y Trips
Playbook: KC

Setup:
1. Place your left WR on a 5-yard out-route.
2. Place your right WR on a 10-yard out-route.
3. Motion snap your slot WR to the inside.
