As discussed prior on how to stop a high risk high reward run play headed to the right side of the field, we find ourselves stopping this run play the same way.  Without your opponent utilizing motion, you should be able to come through the created gap and make the user tackle.  If motion is used, go back to using the concept of occupying a blocker so your other defenders can make a play.

When facing a run where your opponent is shooting for a home run, you must be careful when making your move.  If you over pursue and they pick up the one block they need, a play that should be a gain of one or two yards can turn into a TD due to greed on your behalf.

With that being said, make sure you play is safe more so then over pursuing when facing runs such as these two runs.  When running a run play that is a high risk high reward, chances are they are headed outside the tackles, which in this case our defense is spread out and is heavy on the edges.
