The 3rd part of the mini scheme attacks zone coverage. You will force your opponents hand into running zone coverage with the man plays in the earlier part of the scheme. Once you notice your opponent in zone, audible to DBL Stick. The reason this play is effective is because the flat routes to each side “flood the zones” allowing both slant outs to get above a flat and purple, but below a deep blue.
Another nice read on this play is to streak the RB out of the backfield. Once he clears the yellow zones in the middle of the field, pass lead a streak to the inside for an easy catch for a big gain.
