Detroit Offensive Guide

Forged in the motor city itself, our team knows this playbook intimately. Growing up in Detroit taught our team the valuable lesson of hard work in a blue collar economy. Our team now has the ability to hand over our blue collar gameplan from the Detroit offensive playbook. When we say “blue collar” and “hard working,” we mean it. This offense is not for those of you that wish to put an elegant offense on the field. Sure, we have some tricks and flashy plays, but this guide is for the gamers who love to pound the rock....

BroNamath Defensive Scheme – 4/4

BroNamath Defensive Scheme – 4/4

This is a nice play to mix in with the others from the mini scheme.  This setup gets 2 players off the same side.  This can be an effective strategy if your opponent is blocking a running back every time on the left side of the field. Every player is manned up, so it is recommended to lurk with the player that is on the running back.  If the RB goes out for a pass, manually cover him and if he is blocked try and find the open receiver. Mix in all of these plays in the mini scheme with maximum coverage defense and expect stops on the...

BroNamath Defensive Scheme – 3/4

An all out blitz is necessary in keeping your opponent honest.  When getting two players through on a blitz your opponent must either get rid of the ball extremely quick, or block 1-2 players. On this play you must lurk with the free safety and cover the open receiver manually.  Often the open receiver is the running back and is blocked.  This leaves you responsible for finding the open receiver before the pressure arrives. Being a successful defensive player is all about adjustments and bringing pressure from all different areas. Play:...

Stick N Up

Stick N Up

This formation is gaining popularity due to the unique route combinations. In this play, they have the turn around route in the slot which roasts any coverage. They also have an extremely unique TE route that cuts out and then up and burns the defender any time for an easy 15 yard gain. Other reads on this play include the inside slant to the lone WR on the left hand side. Due to his positioning, he gets underneath the CB every time for an easy pitch and catch. The smart routed In route is also effective verse man and zone if you pass lead up...

BroNamath Defensive Scheme – 2/4

This play looks identical to part 1 of the mini scheme, but this time the pressure is coming from the right b gap. It is important to switch sides of the pressure so your opponent doesn’t get used to where the blitz is coming from.  It is very important to place the MLB on top of the LT. This one step disguises the defense so your opponent does not know which side the blitz is coming from. Play: Cover 6 Formation: 4-2-5 Under Playbook: NYG Setup: 1. Show blitz 2. Crash DL to the right. 3. Re-Blitz the LB on the right. 4. Spy the RE. 5....

Trips TE Slot Screen

Trips TE Slot Screen

This play flies under the radar in what is known as a pretty pass efficient formation. Shotgun Trips TE has many explosive plays that attack down the field. While your opponent is bracing for the intermediate to deep routes in the formation, audible to the Slot Screen for a quick gain. Drag the TE so you give yourself an extra blocker in the area. Once the blocks start to form, pass lead down to the slot WR and follow the blockers either outside or up the middle for a big gain. Play: Slot Screen Formation: Shotgun Trips TE Playbook:...

Drag Cross Ups

Drag Cross Ups

This play is a great example of how to beat man coverage. The first read on this play is the route to the slot WR on the left. Pass lead to the inside when the WR breaks up field and the CB gets absolutely lost on the play. The next read on this play is the slot right WR who is on a similar out and up route. Unless your opponent manually slides a defender in front of him, you can hike throw that route for an easy gain every time. The remaining routes are crossing routes which are highly effective this year. The reason we put the RB on a streak...

BroNamath Defensive Scheme – 1/4

This play is very effective because of the way it is set up.  The players on the play all move where you want them to except for the MLB.  This is done by showing blitz. Disguising where the blitz is coming from is very important in being a successful defensive player.  This particular setup gets pressure from the left B gap and it completely hums at the quarterback. Look forward to more tips from this formation to complete a dominant mini scheme. Play: Cover 6 Formation: 4-2-5 Under Playbook: NYG Setup: 1. Show blitz. 2. Crash the line...

WR Stick Nod

WR Stick Nod

This play is very effective because it has the RB on a flat route which glitches man coverage as well as pulls down any zone allowing for intermediate routes to the sidelines to be wide open. In this play, we show how to destroy the man coverage not only on the right side but the left side as well. First, the slant flat combination glitches the man coverage and makes the defenders switch assignments leaving the outside slant wide open. Once your opponent starts to guard that, the route on the left may be the most under utilized route in the...

Film Room – Tyronto vs Jagger

In this edition of the Film Room, we have two community members squaring off against each other. On one side, we have Tyronto, a rather well-known upstart, having only picked up Madden a couple of years ago. Our Madden Pro “Truth” has literally taught Tyronto how to play Madden, literally down to what button hikes the ball. On the other side of the field we have community member Nick Jagger. Jagger is known as an unconventional player, developing his own thoughts and schemes that aren’t considered “main...

PA Lions Seams

This play is successful because it contains a route that you can spectacular catch every time. The first read on this play is outside left WR. The route resembles an old school fade route. Wait until the WR is 15-20 yards down field and pass lead down and to the outside. After clicking on to the WR, swivel and user catch for a big gain. The next option is the unique slanted streak the TE is on, which absolutely kills man coverage. After that, the in and slant routes cross and will use each other as a pick to free themselves from the man...
