AM Gauntlet Rules

Tournament Format

  • The AM Gauntlet Series is FREE entry.
  • AM Gauntlet Events will be held every Sunday, scheduled to begin at 5 pm EST.
  • AM Gauntlet Events and Championships will be single elimination based on the NCAA bracket style.
  • Each round, you will be awarded a ten-minute grace period to accept the scheduled game. If you don’t make yourself available within the time frame, it will result in a disqualification from the present AM Gauntlet.
  • Brackets will be randomized for each new AM Gauntlet Event. AM Gauntlet Championship will be seeded.
  • The finalist from the previous AM Gauntlet Event, in ascending order, will be the first to receive first round byes for the next AM Gauntlet Event, if presented available.
  • Brackets will be posted within that weeks *Official AM Gauntlet* thread

*All scheduling conflicts will be rewarded in the favor of the member that is most active in the present *Official AM Gauntlet* forum thread/topic. All other mediums of communication will not be rewarded. If you are unsure, contact AM_Truth via the AM Forums.

Point Breakdown (Per Event)

1st place – 50 points x # of contestants
2nd place – 30 points x # of contestants
3rd place tie – 15 points x # of contestants
5th place tie – 6.5 points x # of contestants
9th place tie – 2.5 points x # of contestants

Gameplay

- Players will be allowed to use any of the 32 NFL teams (Latest UP TO DATE ROSTERS). You do not have to use the same team throughout the AM Gauntlet. Players will be allowed to use the same teams within a game.

- Players may choose any Madden NFL 11’ offensive and defensive playbook.

- If a Player chooses to edit their QB, RB, FB, WR, TE, DE, DT, ROLB, LOLB, MLB, CB, FS or FS on their Depth Chart, they must adhere to the restrictions listed below.

- If a Player chooses to substitute players, they must follow the same restrictions presented above, in regards to their Depth Chart. Packages are allowed to override this rule, if available.
* Violating the depth chart or substitution rule will result in a warning and reorder of depth. If violated a second time, the player must punt the ball. The third violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

- Players may not fake a Punt or Field Goal.
* Violating this rule must punt the ball on their next offensive play. Violators of this rule who earn a First Down or a Touchdown, will Forfeit the Game.

- There is no blocking FG’s, PAT’s or punts.
*Violating this rule when blocking FG’s or punts will result in disqualification. Players found violating this rule when blocking PAT’s will result in the opponent being awarded the point for the PAT. In the case of a second PAT becoming blocked disqualification will be enforced.

- Players may not attempt an Onside Kick unless they are losing in the 4th Quarter.
*Violating this rule will result in disqualification.

- Players may not use a No huddle/Hurry-Up offense following an Incomplete Pass.

- Players may not audible out of or to QB Kneel, Wildcat, Field Goal, or Punt offensive formations.
*Violating the two rules above will result in a use of a timeout before running the play. If no timeout is present, a delay of game must be taken. If neither action is taken, this will result in a punt the next play.

- Players may not use the “Spy Blitz.”

- If a Player runs a play out of a formation in which the QB takes the snap under center and carries the ball across the line of scrimmage with their QB, their QB’s first two steps must have been taken away from the line of scrimmage. This rule doesn’t apply in situations where the yardage to gain for a 1st Down or Touchdown is 1 yard or less.

- If a Player runs a play out of a Gun formation and carries the ball across the line of scrimmage with their QB, their QB’s first step must have been taken away from the line of scrimmage.
*Violating the two rules above will result in a punt for the first infraction and disqualification for the second. If a player violates this rule during a two point conversion and converts, those points will be removed from ones score at the end of the game.

In the case of any of the following rules are broken, indisputable evidence is needed to enforce upon the infraction.
